Internal Wall Insulation

Internal Wall Insulation

If your home was built before 1920 then Internal Wall Insulation can significantly improve the energy efficiency of your home.

Internal Wall Insulation can help overcome planning restrictions or provide a cheaper option than External Wall Insulation.

Solid walls or non-traditional houses can lose twice as much heat as cavity-constuction properties.

On average you will save around £490 per year on energy bills and reduce your CO2 emmisions by 1.9t/year (Energy Saving Trust figures, November 2013) By insulating your solid walls it will not only keep the warmth in to save energy, but it can also help reduce condensation inside the house if this is a problem on your external walls.

How it works

Internal Wall Insulation can be installed using two different types of system:

1. Studwork & Mineral Wool
This system is a build-up of thermal studwork and a glass mineral wool insulation. Once fitted, walls are finished with plasterboard, leaving a fresh and clean surface for redecoration - perfect for those looking to redecorate and renovate their homes. The encroachment of internal space is minimal.

2. Insulated Plasterboard
This system uses specially manufactured plasterboard which has insulation qualities adhered to it. The thickness of the insulated plasterboard dictates the performance. This insulated plasterboard can either be screw-fixedor wet-fixed to the existing walls.

Irrespective of the system used in your property, any existing fixings on the external walls will need to be moved before insulating - e.g. electric sockets or radiators. In most cases, Everwarm will do this as part of the service.

All Everwarm's Internal Wall Insulation installations come with the Solid Wall Insulation Guarantee Agency (SWIGA). The SWIGA Quality Assurance Framework and Guarantee for solid wall insulation provides additional peace of mind and access to technical expertise in the event of any defect arising in the design, workmanship or materials and is aligned to the Green Deal & Energy Company Obligation (ECO) requirements for a 25 Year guarantee.

Everwarm will always survey a house before we insulate it. The no obligation survey and quotation is free and we will maximise any available funding support to ensure that any charges are kept as low as possible. In many cases there will be no charge for the work.

Installation Time

The installation time for Internal Wall Insulation can vary as every house is different. On average an installation will take around 5 days.
